There was once about a 3 or 4 month period of my life when I could say I was a fan of this comic, and it was mainly because I thought the movie was "cool". Yes, I was naive and a dumb teenager, but I can now see this comic as it really is: a blasphemous and nonsensical reinterpretation of Biblical end time warfare, and a complete crock. I'm glad I realized how bad this comic really was. Still, I thought the characer design of the series looked good, but even that doesn't make up for the outrageous story and inaccurate Biblical themes.

I tried it out, but couldn't quite come up with a way to get the white parts of his face the right shape or size. Perhaps I should be using gray pieces?

I still have issues 1 - 30 stored at my parents house. The writting was ok, but McFarlane's art was great. A good story needs an end, spawn ended up being a serial comic like any other.

As for the biblical aspect of the comic, it's a moot point cause they're both make believe.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. Sure Spawn's art and character designs were top notch, but I think its pretty clear McFarlane and his writers know absolutely nothing about "the last days" as they are known in the Bible. Also, dismissing an entire foundational book as "make believe" is a bit rash. I would say the Bible certainly stands above other books for its life correcting directional aspects alone. As for end time prophecy, I would go as far as to say people who don't see prophecy being fufilled right before our very eyes are either in denial, or are perhaps blinded by the luxuries of the materialistic world to know any better.

This is as good a place as any for another theist-atheist debate, so here goes.

Not only shouldn't you get your morals from the bible, you ,in fact, do not. Is genocide good? slavery? Obviously not. How do you make that decision? Not by reading the bible. If you checked the bible, you would find numerous examples of god sactioning both. In reality, you have a natural compassion for others that evolved as a way for groups to better survive. The power of modern media allows us to have empathy for people all over the world. We "know" that slavery and genocide are wrong because we can identify with those other people and realize that we wouldn't want to be in their shoes.

Also, congrats on #1 status on the CMO channel.

Thanks :) It's good to oust that thief Ninja for once.

Now, when it comes to slavery, most of the time people misinterpret the idea and associate it with extreme brutality and involuntary servitude. While its true that early Americans and many other cultures tried to use the Bible to justify slavery, the truth is, it is all taken out of context. I think this link explains it best:

http://www.brfwitness.org/Articles/2003v38n1.htm

As for genocide, The most striking example of the subject I can find throughout the Bible is the mass murder of Chrisitians in the new Testament for refusing to give up their faith. This is another subject that has been twisted by modern theology, as many people erroneously believe that only witches were burned at the stake for being "heretics". The truth is that once the Roman Catholic Church assumed statehead power, they made a decree that anyone who did not conform to their new religous standards such as infant baptism and the concept of purgatory (both of which are nowhere to be found in the Bible, not to mention the office of Pope) were to be killed. This is what eventually snowballed into the Crusades, which many people blame on so-called "christians" who in fact are only christians in name only and not in deed. This is all ellaborated on in the book "Trail of Blood" which can be read online at:

Of course this whole debate could go on forever, but I know what I believe and often times people don't want to hear it, due to today's political correctness and lack of faith in God. Simply put, I feel we are living in perilous times as mentioned in end time prophecy. All signs are pointing to a New World Order, to which there will be a single world leader, a single currency and a single religion. Though it may not sound logical to the unbeliever, the Bible does say that a day will come when every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that God is Almighty. That being said, I prefer to get that over with in theis life than to be caught off guard and find out that God DOES exist and that I have no hope when I meet him on Judgement day. The good news is, there IS a way out of Damnation though Christ, and if you're familiar with the Story, he was sent to die as a sacrifice on the cross as a payment for our sins. Here is a simple tract explaining it all for anyone who is interested:
