good game, but i think it is just a little too short...

i think that the mini games were fun and that there was loads of things to find...

i only wished they added more elements from the book to the game...

that is why i give this game a 4 out of 5 stars
only the most awesome game ever!!!!! ive been waiting forever for it to come out on wii

For Potter fans only.
Lots of developers have trouble getting Wii motion detecting mechanics right. The developers of this game had trouble getting the normal controls aspects right. Running and walking around Hogwarts is an unpleasant experience. The game controls the camera and when it won't look where you want it to, which happens often, you have to make Harry run in circles till it flips around. The camera also can't keep up with you if you run around a corner so be prepared to be bumping against walls and doorways.

That would all be forgivable if the game was more than a series of fetch quests. Here's how the game plays out: There will be a plot advancing dialog between the characters where the wii's graphical limitations really show themselves. Do yourself a favor and turn the subtitles on so you can read the text instead of watching the last gen character models wobble about like a conversation between your G.I.joes (insert whatever toys you still have around). Sometimes the conversation will be skipped entirely through some unknown glitch. This is a mixed blessing as now you aren't sure where to go next. Don't worry, there is a map that allows you to set a person or destination as a target. I recommend using the lists on the sides of the map rather than pointing directly at the map because whenever your pointer nears a selectable room it jumps and sticks to that area. Having fluid control of the IR pointer wrenched away from you is just one more of the subtly irritating mechanics EA snuck in this game. The way the game leads you to your selected destination is surprisingly innovative. You follow footsteps that appear in front of Harry as he runs along. Of course, now you're bumping against doorways and fellow students and just waiting for the ride to be over. Your prize will either be another conversation to watch, or a chance to use your wand.

Unfortunatly, the wand use is uninspired, and doesn't give a feeling of immersion. The only fun spell is wingardium leviosa, which lets you pick up and float objects around. But even this spell is buggy. You'll find somtimes a painting won't want to come down from the ceiling, and you'll have to let it drop and try again.

Lives up to the quality of J.K. Rowlings writting.

Sure the layout for Hogwarts was excelent but beyond that this game disappoints. Had hard time with the controls working often, Ron and Hermione seemed to get in the way often as did the camera. The game sadly is just like the movie completely stripped of the fun stuff from the book and too short. I'm also curious as to have I made it throught the game and seemed to have died (you can't fail anything story line wise) several times. I'll be taking this back shortly.

About the only fun thing about this game are the ways in which, if you move you wii remote in a circle, or in a wavy up-and-down motion, it casts a certain spell. The graphics are about as bad as they get, because I compare them to that of a Nintendo 64 game.

OK. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Well, here we are again playing another Harry Potter game. The books and the movies have been very succsseful, but how about the game? Let's find out.

The game is played like any other game. Wiimote in your dominate hand Nunchuck in the other. Use the anolog stick on the Nunchuck to move. The Wiimote is like your wand. Using different movements will conjour different spells. "Accio" for example is just a simple pulling motion. "Depulso" is just a simple pushing motion. Sound easy? Well yes it kind of is.

Conjouring spells can be difficult at sometimes but easy at others. Why? I don't really have an answer to that. I stay in the same spot when I play, but it just doesn't have perfect consistancy. Battling is fun. Use an "attack" spell like "Stupefy" to knock them on the ground and then use "Expelleramis" to get their wand away.

The entire game has NO load times. (Except when loading a game, duh). What I mean by no load times is that, say you wanted to go from the Gryfindor common room and then down to Hagrid's hut. Well there will be no loading screen. Now wait before your gamer wenies go wild Harry sometimes lag so don't think this game is the coolest.

Music is pretty much the same as it is in every game. Speaking of sound... I want to talk abou Ron and especialy Hermione. Ron first. He, like Hermione stay with you throughout the entire game. Ron is OK, nothing wrong with him... But then there's Hermione... SHE WON'T SHUT UP!You cant turn her off and she has to tell you what you have to be doing every 15 seconds. IT GETS VERY ANNOYING.

The rooms are B-E-A-UTIFUL, exact copies from the movie! Overall, for a movie/book-based game, it's not that bad! But it's not that good either.

i have given this 5 mainly because my eldest son will sit for hours in silence whilst i study and he loves it. hes a very big potter fan and prefers playing on the wii due to the more activeness you have.
I cant get off of this game with its clever use of the wii remote ,i was hooked until i found i had completed it already.but then i found out there was more stuff to do.

This game was...alright.

It follows the movie, so much to the point where if you didn't see the movie or read the book, you'd be lost within the first 10 seconds. Within the span of one minute, the game jumps from Harry and Dudley's encounter with Dementors to Harry's court trial to Harry magically (no pun intended) appearing in Sirius's house.

The graphics are decent. The controls are interesting, where different Wiimote movements perform different spells like Reparo and Accio. The controls can be a little slow at times.

The main downfall to the game is that it is boring. While you can freely walk through Hogwarts (using the Maureders Map to help you out),you are forced to perform mindless busy work tasks. For example, you have to help Ron pack his clothes into his suitcase and Hermoine fix the chairs and tables in the kitchen.
In all, give this game a rent if your a Potthead.

It was a good game but it was to easy. The only reason it did not get a 5 is when you go get all of the DA members it was easy, but long and annoying. My favorite part was waving the wii remote and the nun-chuck to do diffrent spells. If you dont like to wave the remote and all the game gets pretty boring. Also the camera was really bad. I loved the graphics because they look just like they do in the movies.

A must have for Harry Potter fans!
pros: incredible exploration
cool wand controls
graphics and sound are awesome
captures every nook and cranny of Potter universe

so why not 5 stars? It was a little short. But its the most fun I've had in a while, and there is a definite sense of awe playing this game.

It was ok, another Harry Potter game. If you were a fan of the past ones for the other systems this one is no different. Nice story, nice controls, its nice. Not a mind blower though.

Very well done. I had the second game, for the gamecube and hated it so much I sold it two days after I got it. I reluctantly decided to try this one after reading some great reviews. Well it was 1000x better than the second one. Hogwarts is huge and you get to search it all. There are also things from the book which didn't make it into the movie, which was kind of cool. Using your remote and nunchuck to control your wand is really fun and easy to do. Althoug, Expelaramis is somewhat difficult to preform in duels. I would definitely recommend this for Harry Potter fans of all ages.

Fun game but not the greatest with controls. the graphics aren't too bad and sometimes it is unclear what to do in tasks.

Most of the "adventures" seem to revolve around doing things people should be doing themselves.

Pretty Good If you like this kind of stuff!
Awesome but short. There's nothing to do after you beat the game. Also, after you beat the game you can't do any levels you already beat but it still is 1 of my favorit games!

This game is awesome. Probably the best Harry Potter game there is.

The awesome thing about this game is that your wiimote is actually your wand, so you have to do different movements to make a spell, and thats what makes this game so fun, and innovative.

I also like that there is no more loading when you enter a new room or a new area, and that the Hogwarts you see in the game is the actual Hogwarts from the movie, so its really fun to explore. You can interact with almost everyone and everything in Hogwarts, you can even lift benches with some spells, and duel against Slytherins!

Graphics are ok. The only drawbacks in this game is that its just too short, and after you beat it, theres nothing else to do, but explore and duel other people, and you cant fly your broom nor play quiditch at all.

But this is a really really cool game, I suggest you give it a try. 5 stars.

Fun use of the wiimote and nunchuck. A couple aiming issues, but overall a good time.
