Graphics are Superb. Racing is done with pure finesse either via wii mote & nunchuk ( my fav), steering wheel (great peripheral) or game cube controller (nice touch)
mario kart wii feels very much like a singles mode of double dash, which isn't a bad thing. but it doesn`t seem like it`s moved on much. all previous versions were a step forward for the game on the initial release on their rsspective consoles. but the new mario kart tracks seem to be much the same as before. with that said it`s a good game, very enjoyable, and the online games are very addictive, which will certainly the longevity of the game. 4 stars
Not to bad of a game.Great tracks,pretty good graphics,nice choice of characters even though they could have done without a couple of them.For example Baby Daisy? Geesh. Should have been Baby Wario. What ever happend to Wart from Super Mario Bros. 2?
Mario Kart's new addition for the Wii is very good. This is easily my favorite for wii to date.
Gamepay is absolutly perfect, with great new stuff like mid-air tricks. The multiplayer, well this is probably the best game to play with a group of friends, as it can get pretty competitive. Time Trials are awesome. It never gets old trying to beat your best times.
Nintendo did great with the character roster and selection of vehicles and tracks, new tracks like Coconut Mall and Mushroom Gorge dazzle, but I love the classics like Ghost Valley 2 and Mario Raceway.
The best thing about the game is Wi-Fi. The best Wi-Fi on any Wii game no question. There is absolutly no lag at all. And face who wouldn't have fun racing people from around the world?
The Mario Kart Channel can be downloaded to check out on your Wii Menu even when the game is not in the disc slot. On it you can have special tournaments like driving a race on Mushroom Gorge backwards or collecting the most coins on a course and recording your best time. You can even look at the world records on each course and race against them. If you beat them you are a World Champion!
Mario Kart Wii rocks. I highly reccomend it to casual and hardcore gamers everywhere.
The classic series makes a classic return! The new tracks are great and even bikes are a welcome addition. The online mode is the best on any Wii game as you can play people from all around the world with no lag, even when it's 12/12 racers!
Just one bit of advice, give the Wii Wheel a try because it is an interesting concept but if I were you I'd revert straight back to Wii Remote and nunchuk because it is greatly superior.
it's mario kart,it rocks its the best online game from nintendo without question,12 ppl playing online no slow down,the sending/receiving of TT challenges by friends,the fact you can check your ranking around the world,this game has too many good points to list,a few not so good points:you only have room for 30 friends codes,the battle mode is team based,you cant customise the item boxes in the races,eg turn off blue shells,the 150cc mode is hard.rubber band racing the more you pull away the harder they hit.other than that i think it's a must buy...
I will give this game 5 stars because its the closes nintendo will come to Mario kart 64. If you like mario kart 64 you gonna love this, the best part is you can play on internet, but also play some old retro stages.
What video games are all about to me - what the xbox 360 still cannot reproduce - an amazing fun title that is so simple to pick up and so hard to stop playing!
The wheel that comes with it makes it so much more fun i wouldn't have thought it possible - if my friends and I had been young when this came out we'd have never gone out!
Seriously, it's up their as a must-have for the Wii!

The Wii Wheel is exceptional fun too! Anyone can pick it up and play relatively well (with the help of a few items, obviously!)and that's what the Wii is about.
That doesn't mean it's basic though, as there is constant room for improvement!
In actual fact, this may well be the best, most enjoyable Mario Kart I've played (I've never played MKDS though?) but aren't they all fantastic!
This game is fun & addicting until you get all the characters then the only thing you "Should" do is play wifi & half the people in my region suck, and they are the only ones playing.
ok look i liked this game, but it feels like it got slowed down or something, i mean come on why cant i pick between 50cc and 150cc when im playing online, this games has alot of people to pick from and likewise on the motor selection, but look, it is really hard to play this game with 4 players in the same room, and dont get me started on the hunk of junk plastic that dosent do nothing but make the game harder, and they changed the drifting to where its sharper or something and it makes you crazy mad when you hit crap, but i digress.
Yes it is an upgrade from the previous mario karts with the new karts an bikes and new courses block items characters etc..but it just doesnt function like the "oh so great" MK64. Even the wii wheel doesn't quite cut it. It feels unreal and life less. The wheel should have a base to support it. Within the game itself theres many things that takes away from the Mario Kart I known to love. While others are improvements. I like bullet bill and the big mushroom. But the star seems to be not as fast anymore. The lighting cloud and the squid are really annoying to the point that there are no point to them. The spiny blue shell comes up more than ever now and it punishes youfor being in 1st every single time. The grass and off road terrain and the wall seems to completely stop you as soon as you touch it even at top speeds. These are not the way MK is suppose to function. You can add new reasonable things to it but the basics should not change and not we must adapt and deal with annoying parts to this MK wii. The game is still fun and thats why I rated it a 4 instead of 5 stars. I will always love Mario Kart my favorite game. But lets stick to its foundations.
This is the best Mario Kart in the series! The tracks, graphics, characters, and vehicles are just awesome!! I finally have this and I have wanted it for a long time! I recommend this game to anyone who wants a challenge, likes kart racing, and who just want to have fun! I think I am going to enjoy this game for many years to come!
this game is amazing so many more levels ,characters,karts,and the online play is awesome. the only thing i dont like so much is the wheel its hard to get used to other then that its the best mario kart yet
This game is a good game, but they could have done so much better.You don't want to play this game by yourself, it gets boring. They also should have made special attacks for each character. They did this in Mario Kart double dash, why can't they do it again? They also should have made more characters and more Karts. Those are just little things I guess, it is still a good game.
YIPPPPPEEEEE! I Waited waited and waited, five years. And now its here and it is brilliant. Don't want to say more other than you wont be dissapointed.
MMMmmmm i have mixed feelings about this game id give it a low 4 star its not bad in fact its fairly good, its just frustrating how in a sense there is no real skill involved with the person in last position taking out everyone with a powerful weapon and winning the match. The n64 levels are awesome but some are lacking in design. All i wanted was a online remake of the n64 version now that would be awesome. Hats off anyway to nintendo for having a decent online racer although the friends aplication is a bit frustrating considering how easy it is on xbox live.

All round entertaining game. Ive played my family, friends online and random people worldwide.
So far the best thing there is. Mario Kart Wii, is the way forward, or should that be the 'wii' forward ;-)
