Check out the rest of the songs as well as revolutionary new features and characters to the Guitar Hero saga, including Drums, vocals, Music Studio, GH Tunes, Create-A-Rocker, Create-An-Axe, etc. Some new characters exclusive to GHWT are Sting, Travis Barker, Billy Corgan, Zakk Wylde, and Ozzy Osbourne!
Also, exclusive to the wii, is Mii Freestyle mode!! Its pretty much the same as music studio only you just jam with your mii and you can play guitar, drums, or air drums with the wiimote and nunchuck. Finally the wii has something the others don't!!
you know that the eagles song is DEFINATELY hotel california and the Van Halen one BETTER be hot for teacher, and that sublime song BETTER be santeria!
A new video from Activision and Neversoft has come out and it's titled Guitar Hero World Tour. Now, some people are referring to it as Guitar Hero 4 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii), but we've yet to confirm if they're the same thing. For now though, we stick to status quo. What we do know is that it's looking nice and it's set to include such acts as Van Halen, The Eagles, Linkin Park and Sublime. It's also due to get a five-piece drum set which the devs say is "the most realistic" of any game in the genre. We wonder what Harmonix and Rock Band (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii) will have to say about that. This game is set for a Fall 2008 release. We'll give you more updates in upcoming posts. Meanwhile, enjoy Lenny Kravitz's mean riffs while you wait.
Unfortunately, the video isn't there, so i just decided to post this info.
It is now confirmed that it is called Guitar Hero World Tour, so if there is any way a mod can rename this thread, that would be great. Otherwise, i'll have to just move the news over to another thread named Guitar Hero World Tour.
IGN is reporting that the game will have a mode where you can record your own tracks and edit them and share them using WiiConnect24/internet... very impressive if it all comes to and works. Also, to link to the news articles, click the "0 Comments" link right below the title. I was very close to buying Guitar hero 3. Now that Guitar hero world tour has been confirmed, I'm waiting on more info before deciding on Rock Band. Could always get both and contribute to the 'mad plastic instrument arms race'. But Lenny Kravitz & Linkin Park-I'm interested. Well with the way Rock band is being marketed in the UK (I can't help but feel the UK get ripped off and have to play the classic waiting game).
The new drum layout looks interesting-more realistic, being velocity sensitive would add to the whole experience. Apparently there's to be a set of lower drums, may be more speculation and rumor then the current image that is out. I'm staying tuned on this one.
I would love to keep posting the latest info on GHWT, but unfortunately im getting busier, so if you want more info, the latest info will always be posted on my tour group forums. The link is in my signature.
I was never really big on the GH series. I've played it several times at friends' houses, but I never liked it enough to go out and get one for myself.

Guitar hero world tour prices have been leaked (US prices, not fully confirmed-classed as rumor) if you're interested it can be found on artechnica here >GH world tour prices
I have already posted the prices for GHWT Half. I dont mind news posted by other members, but please try not to repost news that has already been posted. thanks :)
Sorry I missed that one in my excitement, even though it's only 2 posts above mine. There is a new video on the drums out, if you already haven't seen it. Chad from the Red Hot Chili Peppers is in in testing them out etc. This is looking more promising then expected. I'll check the custom forum board later.
All the great features you heard about are confirmed for the wii. That includes your own music studio where make custom songs, download custom songs from other people, and store up to 200 songs. The wii guitar controller is going to have 5 more touch-sensitive frets, but their function is yet to be announced. DLC has also been confirned for the wii version and songs can be stored on an sd card. The biggest relief for me is that any other usb microphone should work with guitar hero world tour. As much as i would like to buy the whole package, i don't have the money for drums, so this way i can get the singing part of the game :)
Some sonfirmed songs are Sublime's "Santeria, Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell," and the Foo Fighters' "Everlong" as well as Van Halen, The Eagles, and Linkin Park.
Pics of the drums and guitar and an interview with Vicarious Visions CEO can be found here:

If you mean Guitar Hero 4, it should be "Guitar Hero 4 Rock X Rock (double rock)".
