u have to unlock a few expert ghost staff records.to get an expert ghost staff record, u have do a time trial and finish at least 7 seconds b4 the record thats already there for that track.then, the next time u play mario kart they should b there if u have unlocked enough expert ghost staff records.ive got both of those characters
how do u get a star next to ur name? my friend has got a star above his golden wheel everytime we play online

If I am not wrong I am guessing You are talking about the rankings you get when you beat the Grand Prix. You go through the Grand Prix and when you are done it gives You a Star Ranking, or not even a star. You have to do real good to get a 3 Star Rating. The lowest Ranking is an "E". Hope that Helps!
i have noticed that "rubber banding" is maxed out even in 50cc. so my question is "WTF?" 50cc should be a breeze to all but noobs. even with the wii wheel!

Not entirely true.
You need to beat the record at a specific time to unlock the Expert Ghost data.
For example, Luigi's Circuit. You need to beat it in 1 min 20 seconds, I believe.
Search the web for the specific time, there are good videos on Youtube.
well yea you have to beat the nintendo staff ..cause how in the world you suppose to unlock an expert ??? but yea you do have to beat it !

No ...You can beat them but you wont earn anything.....
check real good because i spend more then 4-5 hours checking which staff is not beaten and unlock expert...or try this log out your license and come back in you should get mii (B) ..-thats if you beaten the rest of the staff!

Okay, I asked Matt about This already, but did ANYBODY unlock "Funky Kong" and "Baby Luigi?"
I am confused on how to get Them.
It says "unlock" Expert Staff Ghosts.
I think what it means is beat Them in a Time Trial Race, but I am not sure.
Can Anybody help Me?

To get a star next to your name, you must complete 50cc, 100cc, 150cc, and mirror mode with at least a star ranking on ALL cups.
To get two stars next to your name, you do the same thing only you have to get a two star ranking on ALL CC's and their cups.
To get three stars next to your name, you have to also get a three star ranking on ALL cc's and their cups.

You have to beat the original staff ghosts by at least 7 seconds. Doing that for several/all of them unlocks a few things. (Not that I have... *sigh*)
